Logan's Progress
Note: This is a follow-up post regarding some medical trouble that my nephew has had. You can read all the posts about Logan's condition here. The posts are listed by recency, so start reading at the bottom of the list.
Thank you so much for your faithful prayers for Logan. I have been overwhelmed by your love and support for our family during this time, and I wanted to let you know that your prayers are working.
Ginger (Logan's mom), texted me this picture yesterday morning. I know that a feeding tube doesn't look like much fun, but Logan's smile made me feel much better about my little nephew. It means that he's getting some of his personality back.
Thankfully, the doctors never had to perform surgery on Logan. The steroids he has been on have kept the swelling under control, and over the weekend, Logan's involuntary movements all but disappeared. His speech is returning to normal and he is resting on his own.
He went in for a CT scan this morning to see if the swelling has receded more, but the doctors have not yet shared the results with the family. We're hoping (and praying) given Logan's positive progress over the past few days that the scan will show significantly less swelling and that he will be moved from the ICU to a regular room soon.
I really don't think I can convey how grateful our family is for your prayers. Logan is a sweet and rambunctious little boy, and it's been difficult to see him so very sick. I will let you know if there are any major developments in his healing, but if you'd like to stay more informed, please visit the Caring Bridge page that has been set up for him. His parents are updating it regularly with details about his progress.
Thank you, again, for spreading the word! Please don't stop praying. Things are looking up for Logan, but he's still a very sick little boy. He has a long road ahead of him.
Until next time, grace and peace.
