The book of 1 Samuel is a tumultuous tale about the beginning of a monarchy. The people are desperate for a king, but it doesn’t take long for them to find out that the king they wanted isn’t the king they need. They need something different from what the world has to offer. They need something better.

We’re all ruled by something. The question is what, or who, are you allowing to reign over you? Is it the world? Or is it God?
